I was posing my PM Sam for a pic and I noticed she could bearly stand up on her own. Her limbs were that loose!!! Normally she is just sitting on her bed in my display so I hadn't noticed. I want to send them in to get tightened but I'm not sure. Will they do anything mattely ( I know that's not a word but it does the trick) or anything to ruin her PMness (another or my amazing words!!!) Would you recomend finidng a way to do it yourself if that's even possible or is it ok to send it in?

You can restring her yourself with the instructions at Restringing Your American Girl ~ An Illustrated Guide. Unfortunately, there is no way to "tighten" the existing elastic cord--you must replace it.

Or you can send her into the AG Hospital to have them do it...

Okay, I have a question now. Does the Wellness Visit at AG Hospital do restringing?

My husband recently followed Taffy's guide to restring several dolls for me, Betty, Emily & Amanda. (Thanks Taffy!) They turned out great, and he said it's not hard. The first one went slowly, but now he can do all four limbs about 30 minutes.
We found the metal necessities at Depot, and the elastic cord & grippers-- get two!-- at Hancock Fabrics.

p.s. He wants me to tell you that if you send the doll to him to fix, he'll beat AG's price. (Can you see the headlines now, "Powerlifter and Professional Highland Games Athlete Opens Dollie Hospital?")
